Together with solutions-ahead Schweiz GmbH, we presented our paper: “Continuous Optimisation through Adaptive Boiler Cleaning with Shock Pulse Generators – Benefits for Plant Operators”
In biomass power plants, thermal waste treatment plants and coal-fired plants, efficient boiler cleaning is essential to ensure long operating times and high efficiencies despite challenging fuels. Our approach is based on a digital boiler model created from P&ID diagrams and plant data. Using this model and analysing key parameters – such as flue gas temperatures, pressure losses or heat transfer rates – the cleaning demand can be adaptively controlled, i.e. only when actually needed.
The advantage of adaptive boiler cleaning over fixed cleaning intervals is that critical operating conditions can be avoided when high cleaning demand is detected early, and operating resources saved when less cleaning is required.
